Throughout the entire story of Final Fantasy XV, it is clearly shown how Ardyn is obsessed with vengeance. Since Somnus is his own brother, Ardyn tells us that our closest ones could be the first to betray you. So, Ardyn asks everybody to trust no one fully. This betrayal is the reason why his life turned upside down.
